Flatmark Lab Receives Kreftforening Funding

Acredit member Dr Kjersti Flatmark has received 6.58 million kroners in funding from the Norwegian Cancer Society (Kreftforeningen) to look into the reasons that some abdominal cancers spread far more aggressively than others. Dr Flatmark’s lab will look into the potential to identify the genetic markers that indicate when a tumour will be more aggressive in its spread within the abdomen. It is hoped that by identifying these markers, a new pathway will open toward finding a way to control or eliminate these invasive tumours, potentially assisting hundreds of patients every year. Congratulations Kjersti!
