CMOR Presents at Estro 36

CMOR had many representatives at this year’s ESTRO conference in Vienna.

Anne Hansen Ree gave a teaching lecture titled “Targeting histones and epigenetic mechanisms in radiation biology and oncology”. Also representing CMOR was Kathrine Røe Redalen who lectured on “Extracellular vesicles in radiation oncology”. (Kathrine has also recently been elected to the Estro Young Commitee and was the Chair for Young Track at this conference). PhD Candidate Sebastian Meltzer presented a paper entitled “Circulating exosomal miRNA related to chemoradiotherapy outcome in locally advanced rectal cancer” and also presented a poster titled “Circulating angiogenesis factors predicting poor chemoradiotherapy outcome in rectal cancer”. Medical student Imon Barua presented his poster on the “Mechanisms of normal tissue toxicity from SAHA, an HDAC inhibitor and radiosensitizer”, and presented a clinical rectal cancer case rt at the Young Track in the symposium.
